What is Okta?
Okta is our single sign-on (SSO) provider. It enables you to log in once, verify your identity, and then access all your SNC web applications (mySNC, Knightline and Workday) from a single, customized dashboard without having to re-enter your credentials.
What is the Okta dashboard?
The Okta dashboard will be your new one-stop shop for accessing all of your SNC apps. You will also use the dashboard to change your SNC password, which you can refer to our other Knowledge Base article on

How do I log into the Okta dashboard?
Go to
https://sso.snc.edu
to see all of your apps in one place. Use your SNC email address, password and multi-factor authentication (MFA) to sign into the Okta dashboard. If you still need to activate your account, refer to this article:

How do I activate my Okta account if I don’t have a smartphone and cannot download Okta Verify?
You will need to make an appointment with the ITS Service Desk. Call us at 920-403-4040, email us at
servicedesk@snc.edu

on the first floor or
submit a request

What do I do if I got a new phone and need to set up the Okta app again?
If you still have your old device, you can
add your new phone as a new device
. If you do not have access to the old phone, you will need to stop by the ITS Service Desk at the Mulva Library Circulation Desk on the first floor, email
servicedesk@snc.edu
, or call 920-403-4040 so someone can reset your account. This will allow you to set up Okta again.
What if the application I was to access isn't in my Okta Dashboard?
While most apps use Okta, there are a handful that aren't (such as Papercut). If you know the application uses Okta and you do not see it in your dashboard, reach out to the ITS Service Desk.
Do I have to use the Okta dashboard to access my web applications?
No! You can continue to use the links and bookmarks that you’ve always used to access your apps. Okta will ask for your username (email address), password and require multi-factor authentication (MFA) as necessary. That said, we think Okta is a great way to keep track of where to find everything SNC, since it will soon be an all-inclusive list, and it’s always kept up-to-date. Give it a try by visiting

Does Okta work on my mobile device?

What is the Okta plugin and why would I want to use it?
The Okta plugin sits in the corner of your Web browser window and allows you quick access to all of your apps. Instructions on using the browser plugin can be found here:

Why does my Okta session expire but some of the apps are still open?
When you’re logged out of your Okta session, Okta doesn’t automatically log you out of your applications. Your apps have their own session lifetime which they determine, or you can manually log out of them when you’re finished.
