A "Page" is a great "Home Page" for course because the instructor can customize it to include images, information, and important links in a visually appealing way.
To set a "Page" as the "Home Page" of a course, navigate to your course, and select "Pages" on the left-hand side:

Find the page that you would like to make your "Home Page" and click on the three vertical buttons on the far right-hand side (Note: Be sure that the page shows the green checkmark indicating that is is published):

Next, you will need to denote the page you intend to be the "Home Page" as the "Front Page" of all of the pages in your course by selecting "Use as Front Page":

Navigate back to your current home page, by selecting "Home" or by clicking on the course name in the top left corner:

To officially set your intended "Front Page" as your "Home Page", click on "Choose Home Page" on the right hand side of the screen:

Select "Pages Front Page" and click "Save":

You should now see you "Home Page" as the page you designed.
